TRIM$ returns a string value without leading or trailing spaces


Syntax


TRIM$(StrExpr, [Mode%=0,1])

 


Arguments


  • StrExpr

     returns a string value. "NullString" is considered as a DETERMINED empty string. TRIM$ returns a string value without leading or trailing spaces.



  • Mode%

     is the option of the TRIM$ function.


    • For 

      Mode%=0, the string is not trimmed where it is surrounded bij CrLf (Carriage return Linefeed)


    • For 

      Mode%=1, the string is also trimmed where it is surrounded bij CrLf


Examples

TRIM$(" 
Qnowledge 
", 0)

returns

Qnowledge 
")

The string is surrounded by CrLf, so the spaces are not trimmed for Mode%=0



TRIM$(" 
Qnowledge 
", 1)

returns
"Qnowledge"

The string is surrounded by CrLf, spaces and CrLf are trimmed for Mode%=1
