In order to make MARIN's knowledge accessible to a wide group of users around the world MARIN has started working on the development of an Internet service that allows users to access MARIN's knowledge in a modern way. Calculation methods will be available online and users can easily communicate with MARIN specialists.

e-MARIN is the first online hydrodynamic design and support area on the internet. The ambition of e-MARIN is to provide a complete online hydrodynamic service covering Powering, Seakeeping and Manoeuvring issues. The backbone of e-MARIN is the long history and knowledge captured by MARIN in numerous software packages.

Present applications online are:

• Resistance and propulsion (QDESP, see also scenario examples );
• Resistance and propulsion, with correlation (QDESP, see also scenario examples );
• Propeller design (QCSPDP, see also scenario examples ).

Qnowledge and [Lingewoud] are cooperatively working on a public web-based platform for sharing knowledge bases. It will provide free and paid subscriptions to enable sharing knowledge and application based on Quaestor technology.
