If you did not receive an activationID together with your product, you need to request a certificate-based license. To use certificate-based licensing only a license file is needed. License files can be used to hold nodelocked or floating licenses.
Certificate-based licensing is locked to specific machine hardware. To be able to generate a license file for this specific machine the output of the 'ipconfig/all' command must be send to: support@marin.nl
After receiving this output, the license file will be created and send back.  Upon receipt this license file should be placed in the installation directory of the product. This license is fixed to a specific hardware ID of your PC or server. To provide this hardware ID you need to execute the following command in a DOS window:

Code Block
ipconfig/all > hostid.txt

ipconfig/all > hostid.txt

Return the hostid.txt together with your request to: support@marin.nl

Floating licenses

To use certificate-based floating licenses a license manager is required. This license manager comes in two parts; the FLEXnet publisher license manager and the specific Marin license manager. The Marin license manager requires the FLEXnet publisher license manager 11.9 or higher. If a FLEXnet server already exists and is operational, only the installation of the Marin License Manager is needed.

After successfully importing the Marin floating license file into the FLEXnet license manager the licenses are available to ‘float’ around the network.

For installing and using the Marin License Manager see: Installing Marin license manager
